What are your shipping charges?

Domestic (US) Locations

4Nscale charges a flat rate of $6.95 for ground shipments within the U.S. which includes insurance.
Our primary shipping method is United Parcel Service (UPS).
For customers that request shipment by U.S. Priority Mail, shipping charges may be higher than our flat rate of $6.95 since a new pricing structure was implemented by the Postal Service effective June 30, 2002.
We also ship Overnight, 2nd Day, 3rd Day and US Express Mail. Charges for these services are generally at “Actual Cost”. If shipping only magazines or some other small, flat items such as decals, we may ship via First Class mail, and at a reduced shipping charge. This is, however, at our own discretion.

International Locations

International shipments are charged the “Actual Cost” of shipping and insurance (if applicable), plus a $5 handling fee. The handling fee covers the time necessary to fill out customs forms and for the special trip that must be made to the post office.


Military Bases

4Nscale generally uses US Priority Mail when shipping to an overseas military base. Additionally, our $6.95 rate is generally applied. We do not, however, charge the $5 handling fee.

What are your shipping options?

4Nscale primarily utilizes UPS Ground and US Priority Mail. However, we can ship Overnight, 2nd Day, 3rd Day or US Express Mail.

Does 4Nscale ship to International locations?

Yes! 4Nscale will ship to most any International location. When shipping to an International location shipments are charged the “Actual Cost” of shipping and insurance (if applicable), plus a $5 handling fee. The handling fee covers the time necessary to fill out customs forms and for the special trip that must be made to the post office.


Please note that the US Postal Service does not offer insurance to some International locations. In these situations, or when an International customer requests that insurance not be included, 4Nscale is NOT liable for these shipments. If a shipment is lost or damaged, it is the sole responsibility of the Buyer.

Why are some orders split and shipped separately?

Orders may be split and shipped separately in the following circumstances:

1. Large Items: Some items are so large they must be shipped separately from the rest of your order. These oversized items may incur additional shipping charges. An example is Woodland Scenic’s Scenic Ridge. Because this item is pre-packaged we are not able to add other items to it. In this case it would be shipped separately and the “Actual Cost” of shipping the Scenic Ridge would be charged to the customer.
   
2. Flex Track or Cork: Because of the length of flex track and/or cork, often times these items cannot be packaged with other products due to size. In these cases, flex track and/or cork will be shipped separately and will incur an additional shipping charge. Often the additional shipping charge is below the flat rate of $6.95.
   
3. Hazardous Materials: Government regulations require some items to be mailed in an isolated shipment and labeled accordingly.
   
4. Special-Order Items: Some items that are ordered, but not on our web site, may require special handling or packing. In these cases they may be shipped separately and incur additional shipping charges. An example is Woodland Scenic’s Foam products. The Incline Sets and foam sheets are large and fragile. For this reason they may be shipped separately and thus, incur additional shipping charges.

In situations that require special packaging, we make every effort to ship your product the most efficient and economical way possible. This is one reason why we do not charge a “special handling fee” when dealing with large items or with items that require special packaging.
